31 Weeks – Baby Shower

Week 31, Day 4

The online photo editor I use decided to stop saving photos this morning. This post will contain un-cropped iPhone photos. Sorry.

My Baby is as big as a: Pineapple

Due Guess Date: April 23 to 27, 2014

Gender: Boy!

Weight Gained:  12-15 pounds. Sitting between 140 and 141. My midwife said I am measuring in the 50th percentile. This is definitely a time I am happy to be average.

Symptoms: No heart burn this week! Thank goodness. Still have some back pain at the end of the day.

Difficulty breathing. Even when I am just sitting I feel like I can’t get a good, deep breath.

Food Cravings: Pancakes and Apple Cider. Two things I didn’t really enjoy pre-pregnancy.  I am searching for the best pancake recipe. I’ve tried 2 so far, I like the second one (below, whole wheat banana). Jeff wasn’t overly impressed but I would make them again.  Maybe not for friends.

Food Aversions: Nothing this week.

Sleep: I find the smallest thing will wake me up and then I have trouble getting back to sleep. New plan (starting this morning), if I am awake anytime after 5:45 AM I am just going to get up for the day. I never have a good sleep between 6 and 7. I am usually extra tired when my alarm finally goes off.

Miss Anything? Jumping.

Looking forward to: Going through my baby shower presents!

Belly Button in or out? Fully out.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy. I cried a few times this week, twice at my Baby Shower. Not a sad cry, just emotional. At least I can get away with it.

New Baby Items: To many to mention! I will have to do a recap next week. I do have to share this picture of Rose Nylund testing out the Ergo. Of course we put our dog in it… She was pretty cozy in there.

Jeff hung the new drapes. I LOVE THEM.

Maternity Clothes: Nothing new.

Monday – Rest
Tuesday – BodyFlow
Wednesday – BodyPump
Thursday – Pilates
Friday – BodyStep (40 min)
Saturday – Rest
Sunday – Rest

I know I said I was giving up Step. I lied. I talked to my instructor on Friday about how I was feeling and taking it easy. The AC was actually on in the room so I grabbed a bench, skipped the risers and off I went. It was an old release that I know so well I could teach, so I felt really comfortable. I only stayed until the Party track. It’s my least favourite and there is no point staying for the Speed track anymore.

My amazing Big Sisters-In-Law (I have three), threw me an incredible baby shower. Two hours, MOM-osas, great friends, family… it was perfect. I snapped some photos with my iPhone before everyone arrived.

Little Prince Cupcakes!

Have any amazing pancake recipes? Please share!

  1. So awesome Nicole! I definitely want a baby carrier for Stella!! And the shower was so much fun!
I have to share my favourite pancake recipes with you, I recently found this one online and it is surprisingly very good! http://eugeniekitchen.com/banana-pancakes/
And my favourite, my Grandma’s German Pancakes, I don’t have her recipe written down, but this one is very similar, with the addition of a splash of rum…(maybe that ingredient after the baby is born though!) http://www.eggfarmersofontario.ca/recipe/dutch-pancakes
