Happy New Year! The Last Six Years…

I actually cannot believe it is 2014. Where does the time go?

Six Years Ago (2008) I graduated from the University of Calgary with a B.Ed. April 26th-ish I met my future husband. After teaching grade 2 for a short 2 months and substitute teaching for 4 months; I packed my bags and moved across the country. Crazy right?

The night we met. Love at first sight.

Five Years Ago (2009) Rose Nylund came into our lives. I had my heart set on a Westie… the problem was all of the breeders were 2+ hours out of the city. I found an ad on kijiji for Westie-Maltese puppies being sold in the city! It didn’t take long to convince Jeff to just “take a look”. She stole our hearts and we were bringing home our new best friend less than 24 hours later.

The day we brought Rose Nylund home!

Four Years Ago (2010) we bought our first house. I was shocked by the housing prices in Toronto, but we love the city. Four bidding wars later we found a cute brick bungalow.

Plans for a few upgrades turned into almost a complete gut job. Living through a renovation is something I would rather not do again but it was worth it. It was in this house, on Christmas Day, that Jeff asked me to be his wife.

Three Years Ago (2011) we got married! It was a perfect day that I will never forget. Our wedding was featured on Four Weddings Canada. P.S. Reality TV is not real. I am a nice person in real life… swear.

Two Years Ago (2012) we went to South Africa for our MegaMoon. Best vacation ever. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to travel and loves the outdoors and adventure. There is so much to do and see… plus the food and wine is amazing.

And in 2013…

baby2014 – It will be exactly six years from the day we met that Jeff and I will welcome our baby boy into the world. So many exciting things to come. Here’s to an amazing 2014. Happy New Year!

  1. Congrats! That’s such an awesome progression! Living through renovations is right-it’s something you endure, but is totally worth it in the end. A lot like running, really…
