Giving Thanks

We headed up to Lake of Bays to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend with the Martin family. It was so nice out… pretty sure my family had snow in Alberta.  (Shudder),

We took Friday off work and headed up hoping to avoid traffic and I think we did for the most part. We were told to expect 100% colour in Muskoka last weekend.  I guess this rating is based on the colour of the leaves and the percentage that have fallen. I love Fall colours, I am embarrassed that I didn’t take a photo on the ride up.

Saturday morning we were invited to a family friends “shooting cottage”. I really don’t know what to call it. There is this log cabin in the woods and a structure that houses one of those machines that fires clay pigeons. I was really impressed with Jeff’s gun skills, not sure where he picked that up. I only hit one, but it felt good.

oct162We lounged around on the boat house for the rest of the afternoon. It was so hot out, I ended up putting my PJ’s on because they were the only shorts I had.

Thanksgiving Dinner – We should make a point to have turkey and stuffing more often.

oct163And Dessert… We were celebrating four birthdays. From the top: Tiramisu. TWO Chocolate Pies. Carrot Cake. Apple Carmel Pie. Pumpkin Pie.

I must be the only person with a blog that doesn’t like pumpkin pie or pumpkin spiced anything. Weird right?

I am so thankful for my family and friends, that I was able to enjoy an amazing weekend filled with love, laughs and incredible food. I am thankful for my health, my ability to work out and be fit. I am thankful for this beautiful country that I live in, for fresh air and clean running water. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

  1. You love chai lattes. You used to say they tasted like pumpkin pie in a blender. What about mulled wine and Carmel Apple spice?
