I set up my iPhone apps: Nike Run and Songza, and set my alarm for 6:00 am. In bed by 10, asleep by 10:30.

I did not account for my crazy family calling me SIX times at midnight to share plans of a future sea kayaking trip. Sounds awesome guys, but can we chat about this tomorrow? Love you, miss you.

Back to sleep by 1:00 am. Best advice for waking up, “sit up as soon as the alarm goes off.” Genius! I jumped out of bed and instantly felt like someone had cut off my feet. My ankles were throbbing, I hobbled over to my beautifully laid out clothes hoping the pain would subside. Nope. Still aching. I opted for an ice pack. I guess I am not completely recovered from Warrior Dash. Thursday morning: I AM RUNNING.

The second thing I did Tuesday morning was program the do not disturb feature on my iPhone.


Breakfast: Mango and Cottage Cheese. Oatmeal with Hemp Hearts.

Lunch: Left-Over Rice, Salmon and Raw Broccoli

Dinner: Home-made Chicken Burrito Bowl!

How to:

1. Marinate chicken, I used about half a package of McCormick’s Baja Citrus.

2. Cook rice (add olive oil and a dash of taco seasoning). Cook chicken.

3. Chop tomatoes, make guacamole (avo, garlic, lime Juice, salsa).

4. Open canned black beans and corn, mix.

5. Layer: Rice. Beans/Corn. Chicken. Tomato. Guac. Sour Cream, Salsa.

It’s not Chipolte, but it will satisfied the craving. Next time I will try steak.

  1. Cottage cheese and fresh fruit is my new breakfast love. Oatmeal is great to take to the office because its super fast and easy… Just add hot water. :).

    Setting my alarm for 6 am!

  2. That burrito bowl looks awesome! I especially like that it has taco seasoning, I tried to make one once but it just wasn’t the same as my beloved Chipotle. Thursday morning should be ideal temperature for a morning run!
